I've never liked the word "band", it never fit with the experience that I have collaborating with musicians that inspire me. It's similar to the difficulty that I find in answering the question, "what kind of music do you play?" or "what kind of band are you?" I feel like it's a disservice to be an artist and have to genre-fy or explain what we're doing, of course the goal is to create something original, but also not ignore that the inspiration comes from other artists as well. Why do I like working with other artists, in one word, collaborative art is a joy. It gives me the opportunity to process with other people, hear and listen to what they bring to the canvas, and know that I'm not on my own.
